I’m not dead. Also, I NEVER UPDATED THIS?

I finally finished typing the second draft of book 2 for my series. Yes, the whole series is technically finished (handwritten), but after struggling to revise and type book 2 into something that is not cringe and TOO SHORT, I know the last two books are going to take a lot of work too. But those are problems for future me. Present me is delighted to be back with book one!

We are doing a simple edit this time. The simplest I’ve ever done. I really think it’s actually almost ready (whatever the heck that means). I just need to make Mika and Esu more understandable and clean up one or two minor issues that I already have plans for how to fix. Everything is pretty much good except for surface level things, I think. I hope. I’m currently on chapter 2 of 36, so what do I know? *Carelessly flips table out the window :D*

I’m also doing a study on how to write effective book blurbs and hopefully the result of that will be a killer query letter! Er, not killer. Unless my future agent, publisher, and readers long to be ghosts or vampires. I aim to please.

I’ll tell you what, though, compiling beta feedback is always a confusing task for me to start. You’d think I’d have an efficient system by now, but my brain prefers to throw things around while I’m literally trying to organize them.

My goal was to get my first book published before 2025, when Avatar TLE gets a bunch of new things added, but I know that finding an agent and getting published are two separate time consuming things and if I’m not there now, 2025 is probably too soon to hope for. I’m actually not sure what the best marketing strategy would be, to release during or after the revitalized Avatar hype. It could be a great wave to ride, as Avatar is what largely inspired me to start this story in 2009, but it could also be bad, as my story might not harmonize with but rather get buried under the hype. Plus, what do I do about using it as a comp title while it is impossibly relevant and popular. Everyone will be doing it. *sigh*

Nonetheless, this story is my story and it has been my life. If it is good enough to find and touch others, it will regardless of luck and timing. I just gotta up my marketing skills!
