So, a new month and a new year has begun. I need to get new pants and new shoes, so I got a new couch and maybe a treadmill soon! Yay! #Ihateshoppingforclothes
I just got beta feedback for my 10th draft, 96,000 words, and it sounds like I didn’t mess anything up or leave any crumbs behind when I took that subplot out, so onwards to agents! Right? *hesitates. Takes a deep breath.* Someday… Someday I will get these books published and they will be so pretty on a bookshelf. Just one. The rest will all be digital copies and audiobooks, because I know how people read books these days. It’s also cheaper and it costs less to make (better for environment?)!
Man… Audiobooks. I always planned to have one professional recording and then also a recording where my sister gets all the character voices very wrong on purpose, for all the kicks and giggles. She used to do it casually when I’d leave my notebook or laptop open on the last page I was working on and she’d pass by and just start reading mockingly randomly. It was hilarious and I would love to share the treat. But, of course, also have a real, professional recording too.
I think audiobooks are going to be extremely important when it comes to marketing these days. Accessibility is important, and I love reading while I drive, go on walks, or play Minecraft. My reasoning is ADHD, and my favorite way to read is actually with an audiobook and the digital kindle version, so I can follow along and also take notes/highlights. My second favorite way to read is out loud to my cat or with other people. My cat actually calms down and goes to her bed when I read aloud to her! I…may have read Inkheart this way. D: Oops?
But anyways! Yes, I think my next step will be to jump back into the agent pool and see whom I can find. Fingers crossed and wish me luck! I am also working on the actual 3rd draft of book 2, since the previous draft was really more like 2.5. Because the beginning is all new material, I am learning that rough drafts aren’t as easy as they used to be! Nothing is easy! Art is pain and joy and life and suffering! ONLY THE PASSIONATE SURVIVE! Maybe, idk, I dislike absolutes. XD 😛
I will not have a new Character Scenario game set up right after this post, as I am posting just before I head off to work, but I do have a new book review coming soon and I will write up a new Character Scenario game for this month soon!
God be with ye = goodbye! Drink water and stay warm!
